ABOUT THE PROJECT
Sci-art your life!, a contemporary art and science program is realized by META Spatiu, with the support of the Timis Country Culture and Arts Centre, the Timisoara Project Centre and AFCN (National Cultural Fund Administration).
The events proposed within Sci-art your life! take place at the MV sci-art centre and explore various epistemological areas, from scientific to artistic experiments, from architectural to structural-social construction models, with the aim of focusing on the areas of intersection between the fields of art, science and technology.
The co-existence of disjunctive elements and the synthesis of common ideas in the fields targeted by the event is imperative for opening new avenues of communication, multiple perspectives and real exchange of ideas in the Timisoara community.
ABOUT THE OPEN CALL & WHAT KIND OF INSTALLATIONS ARE EXPECTED
Through this open call, META Spatiu is seeking proposals for large-scale installations (sound, light, text, sculpture etc.) to be placed in the outdoor space of the MV sci-art that eplore the human condition in a contemporary technological society. We invite artists to conceive and manifest monumental art installations that transcend traditional boundaries, bridging art and science, igniting new dimensions of thought and sparking transformative dialogues.
We only accept works that are already completed or at a very advanced stage of development (minimum 70% of the installation is already completed). Artworks must withstand outdoor conditions. We encourage artists to think of solutions that are as sustainable as possible, integrated into the architecture of the space and in relation to the mission and values of the MV sci-art center.
ABOUT THE LOCATION OF THE PROJECT
MV sci-art is a center for contemporary art and science founded by META Spațiu and the Politehnica University of Timișoara, with the aim of generating transdisciplinary collaborations, dialogue, and intersectional projects between various areas of expertise and interest.
The works will be installed in the outdoor space of the MV sci-art center. The space represents a garden with an area of approximately 1,000 square meters.
BUDGET
20.000 RON / artist
CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION
The transportation cost of the artwork, installation, and dismantling is the responsibility of the author.
The organizer will cover accommodation and transportation costs for the selected artists for a maximum period of 5 days.

The project is part of the National Cultural Programme Timisoara – European Capital of Culture in 2023 and is funded by the OverBorder Culture+ programme, implemented by the Timis County Centre for Culture and Arts, with funds allocated from the state budget, through the Ministry of Culture budget.
The event is part of the Sci-art your life! programme, part of the national cultural programme “Timisoara – European Capital of Culture in 2023” and is funded by the Grow Timisoara 2023 programme, Timisoara Project Centre, with sums allocated from the state budget, through the budget of the Ministry of Culture.
